Gemscale Troubleshooting

Symptom

I push the button, get 188.88 briefly, then CAL, put on the weight, but it stays on CAL.

Diagnosis

So far, so good. Put on the 50.00 Carat weight. If it still reads CAL, shut the draftshield, try the whole procedure over again on a really stable surface. If the temperature has changed dramatically (such as taking the scale into an air-conditioned room), let the scale settle for 15 minutes or so, and re-try it.

Solution

If it still reads CAL, the scale has most likely taken a shock, and the sensor has shifted. You must return it to us for a re-calibration. This is our most common cause for return. It is generally repairable.
